Blue Sky Collection

It has been awhile since I have posted a blog. No excuses, life just happened! Beginning with moving from Michigan to California, I have embraced many changes. As as they say, change is good!

The one thing that has not changed is my love for decorating with blue and white quilts. Our new home has quickly filled up with familiar treasures.

California’s blue skies have become a wonderful inspiration with my new fabrics from Andover. Yes, that is another change I went through. Click here to enjoy our latest collection Blue Sky.

My new fabric group Blue Sky is full of the most heavenly shades of blue, my favorite color, complimented with a beautiful selection of lights.

Each individual fabric is pleasing to the eye on its own…

…or in a great bundle with others! Blue Sky will arrive at your local quilting store in June 2017. Keep your eyes out for an email from our mailing list or on our social media channels. Please follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest! If you are not on our mailing list, please click here to sign up.

You can start planning and daydreaming for your next project. Click on the photo above to see the catalog for some inspiration.

To celebrate the release of Blue Sky, I am having a giveaway to get you started!!! To be in the running to win a set of patterns and a small bundle from Blue Sky collection, please tell me what you love about the new collection in the comments. Don’t forget to include your email so I can reach you if you are the winner! UPDATE: Winner will be announced Tuesday 16th May 2017 at 4pm PST.

Too late for me i just saw your blog on pinterest today but thats ok. I love your fabric. I am making my first ever quilt at the age of 69 from your blue barn and have decided to do a double sided with blue sky on the other side. Love the colours. Keep them coming.

Blue is my favorite color, and to see all the tones and hues of this collection makes me so happy! The collection brings back such a country – outdoor vintage feel, while also being very modern in the design process. I would love to have that collection on my shelf to pet and view if I never cut the first piece, but you know it will be used….totally used up!!!

My Favorite memory is playing dress up with my childhood friend Kris (we are still friends) and pushing our dolls in our baby buggy up and down the side walk.

One of my favorite childhood memories was going with my best friend, Billy, to my Grandmother’s attic and dressing up in her old clothes. Adorning ourselves with boas, silk flowers, lace collars and fancy hats. Even tho he was a boy, Billy had as much fun dressing up as I did. We would have fashion shows for my Grandparents, his mother and the neighbors. We remained best friends (from birth) until a massive heart attack took Billy at age 61. That was 10 years ago and I still miss my best friend!

My favorite color is blue. Blue reminds me of the big blue sky of Montana, one of my favorite places to visit. Also, the color of blue is everywhere in Oregon, my all time favorite vacation spot! The ocean in Oregon is so soothing and the bluest of blues of Crater Lake. I can hardly wait for the arrival of Blue Sky line of fabrics. I already have the winter village pattern waiting!

When I was first married I lived in Denver. The first winter there was beautiful and the sky so blue that I didn’t mind the cold days. Maybe because I was in love! My first full size quilt was a three color kaleidoscope of blue, soft beige floral and muslin because that’s what everybody used as a neutral back then. When I saw this new collection I thought of making another kaleidoscope in these fresh colors.

I have loved all of your fabric lines but this Blue Sky is something special. All my life when I have looked up and saw a bright blue sky no matter what kind of day I’m having my mood is instantly lifted and a smile comes across my face. A blue sky with marshmallow clouds reminds me of wonderful memories of childhood. Even the dusky blues conger thoughts of the rolling skies of a good midwestern thunderstorm. I guess the best way I could describe Blue Sky is it feels like home.

I am absolutely in love with your large hydrangea print. When I was growing up, we had huge hydrangea bushes in our backyard, growing all along the back of our house. I don’t know how my mom did it, as I’ve never been able to come close to growing hydrangeas so lovely in my own garden. I remember bringing in enormous armfuls of hydrangeas, filling vases and pitchers with them. The moment I saw that print, I started to consider which quilt would be deserving of having that beautiful fabric for its backing, because I would love to see that for the rest of my life, not cut up, but those great big hydrangeas, cascading down the quilt, over and over.

What I love about the Blue Sky collection is its mood of outdoor freshness: blue, yellow, and cream hues are softly saturated, and the small-scaled prints mimic natural patterns. The occasional rich color and large scale print are botanically inspired, and allow the sewer to apply beautiful accents with more control. With the Blue Sky fabric collection, it is easy for the sewer to create an appliqué or design sans sensory overload!

I always look forward to seeing your new line of fabric. I just finished my Blue Barn Frivol. So this line of fabric would be great to coordinate a quilt with it. The houses on the one quilt I really like. Fingers crossed to win terriud@atcjet.net

Several weeks ago I was having trouble finding the right blue fabrics for a quilt pattern. The quilt shop owner told me about Blue Sky. I cannot wait until it becomes available. It is perfect for the quilt I want to make. If fact, another quilter is waiting for it too. She wants to make the same quilt. Thank you for the opportunity to win.

I’ve been obsessed lately with finding white with little hints of color (not white on white) — these lights will certainly get added to the collections!

The blues of the sky with a touch of sunshine is fabulous. While I was hospitalized last year for several months, the one thing I missed was color….and the sky. So this collection of a great treasure.
