Beachcomber Jacket Virtual Class - Prepping for Success

Our 'Beachcomber Jacket' Virtual Class is just around the corner! I can’t wait to show you how to make this jacket.

 Many of you have shared your excitement about the upcoming session and have been asking how you can get ready in advance. Here are my top preparation tips:

Get comfortable by checking out our YouTube channel. We have a wonderful video for this project. 

You can start creating your star blocks by following the instructions in your pattern.
I also highly recommend going through your unfinished quilting projects and looking for any orphaned blocks you have set aside. These blocks are just waiting to be included in a new creation! Incorporating them into your next project not only puts those beautiful pieces to good use but also makes your finished quilt even more unique and meaningful. You'll love the feeling of making something special from what you already have.

Once again, below you will find all the supplies and fabric requirements to get started.

Supplies

• Beachcomber Jacket Pattern - available with our virtual class or sold separately on our website
• Crew Neck Sweatshirt (one - two sizes larger than normally worn)
• Thread - Aurifil 2370
• Ruler
• Cutting Mat
• Pins, scissors, and fresh Microtex Needles 70/10
• Rotary and new blades
• Oliso Iron
• Crisp Fabric Spray   

Edyta's Tip: I like to press all my fabric ahead of cutting. I use Crisp Fabric Spray for a nice, crisp finish! This is also the perfect time to use up blocks from unfinished projects!

Fabric Requirements for Beachcomber Jacket

Blocks: 
30 fat eighths (9” x 20”) of multi-color dark fabric
7 quarter yards (9” x WOF) of light fabric
Lining: 2½ yards of fabric (if desired)
Binding: 1/4 yard dark fabric

We have a Beachcomber Fabric Kit available, and it includes all your fabrics needed!

Our beautiful Fat Eighth & Fat Quarter Bundles are also perfect for this project 
if you enjoy selecting your own colors!

We have SEW many beautiful options to choose from!

You can also pick and choose from a variety of our stunning Scrappy Rolls or Bundles for a beautiful selection of fabrics or choose your favorite scraps from your own fabric stash!

Don't forget to get some nice light fabrics for contrast!

Quilting together is always more fun!

This Virtual Class is available for any level quilter to join! We will be live streaming for 4 hours, with a 1-hour break in the middle. You will be able to tune in, visit with friends, ask questions
and have some 1:1 quality quilting time with me!

The class fee will be $24.95 and will include your Beachcomber Jacket PDF pattern.

You will receive a special link in your email to join the virtual class at least 24 hours prior to our event,
on Saturday, Sept 6th.
