Mystery Quilt 2025 - Week 2

The excitement is just getting started - welcome to Week 2 of our Mystery Quilt adventure! I’m thrilled to have you along for this creative journey and can’t wait to share this week’s block pattern with you. Get ready for another fun step in our quilt-making process as we continue to uncover new surprises and stitch up something beautiful together.

Laundry Basket Quilts

No matter which fabrics you’ve picked, this mystery quilt is sure to turn out beautiful!
I’ll be making mine using our Poppy Seeds collection.

Laundry Basket Quilts

Don’t worry if you’re not using this fabric collection—you can absolutely use your own scraps! My goal is to inspire you every week, no matter what materials you have on hand. Take a look at the additional photos of this week’s block below, showcased in a variety of fabric collections, and let your creativity soar!

Supplies

For Week 2, you will need:

Once you have everything set up, you’re ready to get started!

Mystery 2025 Block 2 - Poppy Seeds

Block 2 
6½" x 6½" unfinished
Make 4.

Cutting Directions:

Select one light fabric and one dark fabric.
Light Fabric: 8 light QSTs B cut from 2 – 7¼” squares
Dark Fabric: 8 dark QSTs A cut from 2 – 7¼” squares

Block Assembly

Block 2 Step 1

Arrange your pieces as shown above.
Sew 1 A - 7¼" dark QST and 1 B - 7¼" light QST together.

Push seam allowance toward the dark fabric.

Join 2 QST units as shown to make a Block 2.

When cutting QSTs, I like to cut them just a touch larger and then
trim block to the exact size once block is completed.
