Join us for our Mystery Quilt monthly event, from January 16th to December 16th 2026! Every month, we will share quilting tips and how-to recipes related to each block right here on our blog. This event is free and everyone is welcome!

We will be making 12 different block units, and as we make our blocks I will share with you how to place them in the quilt. Finished Quilt size is 70½" x 70½".
Fabric Requirements
5 yards of light fabrics.
4 yards of blue fabrics.
3 yards of red fabrics.
• Light Fabric Requirements •
You will need a total of 5 yards of light fabrics.
This can be in any combination you want:
If you want to use one light fabric throughout the whole quilt, then you will need 5 yards.
If you want to work with Fat Quarters, you will need 20 FQs.
If you want to get even scrappier, you can use 40 Fat Eighths.
(You can use bundles from our website or pull from your own bag of scraps!)

To use one blue fabric throughout the whole mystery quilt, you'll need 4 yards.

If you want to get even scrappier, you can use 32 Fat Eighths.

This quilt is intended to be scrappy - no specific fabrics are required and this is a perfect time to use your favorite red, white and blue scraps. The fabrics below are simply suggestions to help guide your color choices.

I am planning to use AW-10597-L (108") or A-10597-L (42") for backing on this quilt.

• Binding: 2/3 yard fabric in a complimentary color.
Another chance to use scraps from the quilt top!
We’ll be sharing the quilt design in a grayscale grid making it easy for you to follow each step regardless of the colors you choose. I will also be sharing my finished color blocks for inspiration as we layout this quilt.

• Creative Grids® Quilt Ruler 6½" Square or 4½" x 12½"
• Olfa Folding Cutting Mat
• Sew Daisy Fabric Markers
• Crisp Fabric Spray
Edyta’s Tip: I like to press all my fabric ahead of cutting. I use Crisp for a nice finish!
