Back to School - Valley Ranch Quilt Along! 🍎
It's that time of year again when your kids or grandkids go back to school.
Well, this year, let's go to school with them- quilting school, right here everyday for the next two weeks! Let's be kids again with our backpacks full of fabrics and our minds like a sponge.
During this Quilt Along, we are getting back to the basics to really work on those foundational skills. In class we will learn new blocks, practice our techniques through repetition, build our skills, and try new and exciting things, so come learn with us and refresh your quilting abilities!

Required Material: (Select 1 option)
FABRICS {We have Valley Ranch Fabric Kits or use your own fabric stash}
For detailed Fabric Requirements, please visit our website.
Quilt Size is 70½" x 70½"
We have two lesson plans (aka fabric kits) for you to choose from, my dear students! Choose whichever course fits you the best. I know you will succeed whichever path you go.
Lesson Plan 1
This kit option is for the student that does not want to cut their blocks and only wants to focus on their stitching and block building techniques. This kit is amazing for the student looking for short, fun lessons when you don't have too much time to spare for yourself. This pre-cut fabric kit is made with our new Twinkle fabric collection! You can't help but sing, "Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, How I wonder what you are" as you sew your pre-cut pieces together right out of the box!
Lesson Plan 2
This kit is for the student that might have extra time on their hands, enjoys cutting, and wants to practice their rotary and ruler skills cutting each piece and building their blocks from scratch. This fabric kit is made with a curated selection from some of Laundry Basket Quilts favorite collections, a perfect way to open the door of creativity and even add some of your own scraps if you'd like!
And of course as always, you can use your own fabrics
and just join us for the lessons by purchasing the pattern.
Classroom Supplies: (recommended)
PATTERN {You will need a pattern to participate in this Quilt Along}
NOTIONS {These are my recommendations} • 2" Finished Triangle Paper LBQ-0222-X
• Creative Grids® Quilt Ruler 8½" Square (perfect for squaring up your blocks!)
• Pins, scissors, and fresh Microtex Needles 70/10
• Olfa Rotary and Blades
Edyta’s Tip: Always have a stash of fresh blades for your rotary and remember to change your blade often for the cleanest cuts.
Don't you worry anymore about what you're going to do with your extra kid-free time now that school has begun - Join in our Back to School - Valley Ranch Quilt Along and start working on you and your goals one stitch at a time!
See you in class!
Be kind to yourself and be patient.
I'm so proud of you, and I can't wait to see you have SEW much fun!
See you September 2nd for the first day of school!
Happy Quilting,
Edyta
Great to join in this quilt along. Could you let us know the block for tomorrow to enable cutting and preparing for the next class. Many thanks.
What a wonderful Back to School Class. You are an amazing teacher. I so appreciate your attention to detail and taking time with your explanations.
Thank You for doing this.

I just love LBQ! And have so wanted do do a quilt along start to finish, but nothing ever worked out! So happy to take on this challenge! My goal is to have it pieced, and possibly quilted, by the end of September!
Thank you! Tina Little…Oklahoma!
I’m a little confused about the twinkle kit, what happened to the rule of 5?
