Happy Place

When visiting Portland Oregon for Spring Quilt Market I stuck my head out of my booth and made a visit to one of the local quilt shops – Hollyhill Quilt Shoppe & Mercantile.

Right at the front door you get the feeling that something amazing is waiting for you. Quilt market offers a huge variety of products, designers, inspirations, and this Mother/Son team create a seamless transition from one style to another in their shop. I just loved it!

They had a space for everyone in their shop. Maybe a shelf, wall, cupboard or even a rustic cottage full of quilting personalities.

Laundry Basket Quilts “Over the Rainbow” Batiks neighbored beautiful projects from Primitive Gathering and Kansas Troubles.

Next were Minick and Simpson’s patriotic blues, right beside French General reds.

Soften up with some romantic shades from Blackbird Designs.

A blushing glow emitted from beautiful fresh vintage by Fig Tree.

Fat quarter bundles lay within reach of your fingers, calling you to take them home.

Maybe to use in one of Jan Patek’s stunning designs.

I wanted to stay and play longer with bright and happy colors from Thimbleblossoms and  Me and My Sister Designs.

And speaking of playing, I really got into it when I found the American Jane Corner.

A “Happy Place” indeed!

It was soft and pieceful in Bunny Hill’s patch.

Sparkling with inspiration around every turn.

Allowing you to focus on one project, but always inviting and pulling you to see what is right around the corner.

Keeping you surprised with unexpected combinations of patterns from one designer and fabric from another, bringing light to fun opportunities and creativity.

Over the next few days you will have the opportunity to “Blog Hop” with all of the creative  Moda Designers and enjoy their projects.
