I have the best surprise for you - a Summer Mystery Quilt!
Just like I promised, we are having a second mystery quilt this year.
This quilt will be fun, simple, and surprising - a great skill builder.
Fill your sunny days with a little mystery and come have FUN quilting with me!
This Mystery Quilt will be a weekly event - June 1st to July 29th.
Quilting clues and recipes will be posted every Wednesday
for the blocks on our Blog and YouTube Channel.
Make sure you check in and SIGN UP for our newsletter to start your journey, with us as your guide.
This project is perfect for ANY level quilter, beginner to advanced!
For piecing, we will be using a sewing machine and Aurifil Thread, 2370.
We will be making 9 block designs, each block repeating multiple times.
Don’t worry, we will share this information with you as we go one step at a time.
Another sweet surprise, this time we will have TWO quilt sizes to choose from!
Yes, you heard that right, you can choose the smaller or larger option.
I will provide the cutting directions for both sizes, either
the perfect couch quilt -or- an ideal bed quilt.
Quilt Info: • Blocks are 6½" -or- 9½" unfinished • Quilt size is 54½" x 54½" -or- 81½" x 81½" • The quilt is 9 blocks by 9 blocks
And the cherry on top,
there will be multiple color options to inspire you!
Fabric Options:
We will be showing the quilt design in a simple, very organized color option using
8 medium/dark fabrics (1 yard each) and 1 light fabric (2 yards).
This simple option will be a template for your fabric choices.
You can choose fabrics from your own stash or we have some options prepared for you:
1. Day Trip Linen Texture Bundle + 2 yards A-9057-L2
2. A Summer Bundle (Trail Hike Bundle, Beach Day Bundle, or Lemonade Stand Bundle)
Your light fabrics are included in these Summer Bundles.
3. A Fabric Collection:
• Blue Jay Bundle and Dove Bundle from our Bluebird Collection
• Practical Magic Half Yard Bundle + 1 yard A-8511-N
• Lady Tulip + 1 yard of your favorite LBQ light fabric
• The Seamstress + 1 yard of your favorite LBQ light fabric
These options will open the door, allowing you to
personalize this project - put your own spin on this summer adventure!
You only need to choose one color option to make this quilt.
Remember the recipe, 8 - 1 yard medium/dark fabrics and 2 yards light fabric(s).
Important Note: If you are planning on doing the larger bed-sized quilt, please double on your fabric.
Supply List: (These notions are just my recommendations)
• Fabrics (I'm sew excited to see what fabric you choose!)
• Olfa Rotary and Blades
Edyta’s Tip: Always have a stash of fresh blades for your rotary and remember to change yours often.
for the cleanest cuts.
• Aurifil Thread – 2370 recommended
• Best Press • Pins, scissors, and fresh Microtex Needles 70/10
Quilt Grid
This is your blank, starting grid (9 x 9 squares).
Please be patient as you complete your Blocks.
We will be sewing them all together at the end of July.
Our summer plans for the 9 weeks of this exciting event:
Each Wednesday (starting June 1st), we will be posting blogs and
YouTube Channel videos with clues and step-by-step instructions for block assembly.
Each blog post will reveal the block to sew, which fabrics you will need and how many total of each block you need to make. But the most exciting part will be the block’s positions in the quilt grid as they progressively fill out each week, slowly revealing the mystery!
Thank you to everyone who will be joining us!
I look forward to quilting away the summer days with you and
cannot wait to share another original Laundry Basket Quilts design with you!
Thank you for your patience, participation, and kindness.
Each week we will be learning something fun and exciting -
come explore with me!
Happy Quilting!
Edyta

I'm a little late getting started, but need to know the fabric supply to gather, please. Thank you in advance for your guidance. I am so looking forward to starting with the blocks.
I just discovered this mystery quilt. How do I get the instructions for the first 3 weeks.
I am trying to find the initial cutting directions. Example: week 1 through 3 for the smaller quilt starts by using 1.5 in stripes. Are all the starting stripes for the smaller quilt 1.5 inches? This way I can have all my stripes ready each week.
easy pattern. That makes it
fun.
