Welcome to Block 2 of our Mystery Quilt 2022
Great job yesterday.
I hope you're ready for another fun block today!
Below is all the information you need to prepare before joining
For Block 2, you will need:
• 1 light blue fabric
• 1 dark blue fabric
• Creative Grids® ALASKA Ruler -or- Mystery Templates B and C
Block 2
We will be making 16 total Block 2s.
Cutting Directions:
Begin by cutting strips:
• Dark blue fabric - 2 strips 3½" x 20"
• Light blue fabric - 4 strips 3½" x 20"
Cutting with Creative Grids® ALASKA Ruler:
From one strip of dark blue fabric, you should be able to get 8 pieces. Cut both strips for a
total of 16 dark blue pieces.
From one strip of light blue fabric, you should be able to get 4 pieces. Cut 4 strips for a
total of 16 light blue pieces.
Alternative way of cutting with the Mystery Templates B and C:
Use your Template B to cut your pieces from the dark blue fabric strips as shown in the picture. Cut 16 pieces.
Use your Template C to cut your pieces from the light blue fabric strips as shown in the picture. Cut 16 pieces.
Block Assembly
They are the perfect tool to help you precisely mark your sewing points.
Arrange your pieces with dark blue triangle on the top and light blue piece on the bottom.
Lay and pin them right sides together.
Then sew blocks together using chain sewing.
Press your seam open and use your template A or ruler to trim.
